How is the program funded? MCCSO is a 501c4 Non-Profit Organization ran 100% by volunteers. The majority of the organization’s revenue source is obtained from donations from our business community. These donations come in the form of scholarship dollars, program book advertising, donations of products and services, and “In-Kind” Scholarships. In addition, our organization does local fundraising events and sales tickets to our annual pageant to earn scholarship dollars for young women of Clark County.
How can I help you increase your scholarship dollars? You can help support Miss Clark County Scholarship organization in many ways. See just some of the ways listed below.
- Cash Donations:
All cash donations go directly to the scholarship fund, unless otherwise indicated by the sponsor. Per request you can even name the award you wish to fund: i.e. Miss Clark County, Miss Clark County’s Outstanding Teen, Community Service Award, Scholastic Achievement Award, etc. Talk with a representative if you are interested in naming your own award. By giving a cash donation you are directly helping a young woman within your community further her college education!
- Providing an In-Kind Scholarship:
This is an opportunity for your business and/or foundation to provide a scholarship directly tied to education. This type of scholarship is an educational grant that is linked to a private, vocational, community, or state college of our choice. Each contestant running for Miss Clark County has an opportunity to apply for this scholarship, such as through an essay. We encourage your business and/or foundation to select the recipient and present your scholarship at our upcoming pageant. Miss Clark County Scholarship Organization is pleased to announce in 2009 we are offering "In-Kind" Scholarships from:- International Air and Hospitality Academy
- Washington State University - Vancouver
- Clark Community College
- Century 21
- 100 Club:
By joining the 100 Club you will become part of an elite group at a low cost of $100. You or your business will be featured on our website, in our upcoming program book, and on our slideshow at the pageant. Once we receive our 100 contributors for the year the club will be closed until the following year. Each year you will have the option to renew your position in the club. All donations will directly benefit the Scholarship Account. Check out our 100 Club tab to see this years 100 Club Members.
- Fundraising Events:
Go to the events tab where you will see all of our upcoming fundraising events you can participate in.
What is the Program Book Fundraiser? The program book campaign each year is our largest source of scholarship dollars. The publication is a professional produced quality magazine. Each contestant voluntarily participates in supporting this fundraiser by gaining support through advertising sales from businesses like yours. This program is directly linked to our MCCSO Rewards Program. The Reward Program was designed to impact the earning power of each contestant for her scholarship dollars.
Help us create possibilities and opportunities for young women in our community. Go to our Become a Sponsor and find out how to create an ad in this year's program book.
What is the Contestant Reward Program? Each year contestants are asked to participate in our Program Book sales. A percentage of these dollars go directly to the contestants. Contestants can earn up to 25% of the total advertising dollars they collect. The remainder goes to fund all of the other scholarship awards.
